Dating Help…

I’ve decided to join a dating site. That’s the easy bit. But now I’ve got to write something about myself that might actually get someone interested in me. How the hell do I do that? And even worse, the text has to work REALLY hard cos there’ll be a picture of me up there too.

So I’m asking for help.

In all seriousness, I will use any thoughts or comments you have (good or bad) in my profile. Please help.

  1. Get a few friends to send you their descriptions of you, be honest and don’t take too much time on it!

Ok then – as your friend and someone who’s shared an office with you for a while these are words/terms I’d use to describe you: loyal, sensitive, caring, thoughtful, loving dad, generous, loves a challenge, sporty (gotta mention your crazy swimming activities! and latest tri larkey), friendly, slightly introverted, not one for overdoing smiling but like a laugh, have strong opinions (very much lefty ones) and love to discuss them and listen to other people’s, strong sense of fairness… Oh yeah and you make a cracking cuppa!!

My advice for what it’s worth:

    1. Be different, so many profiles look and read the same
    2. Have a headline – you need to stand out from the rest, something catchy, be intriguing
    3. Don’t just state your interests, demonstrate them in your writing, a lot like your blogs!
    4. Create mystery, all girls love danger and a sense of the Unknown, it’ll also give her something to want to find out about you
    5. Don’t be too serious, we want someone who makes us smile right from the off and you’re not writing a job application!

All of the above should be easy-peasy for you, Lucy is spot on in her description of you and any lady would be lucky to go on a date with you my friend X

  4. Why don’t you post a link to your blog?
